Data protection in educational settings

At its 40th plenary meeting, on 18-20th November 2020, the Committee of Convention 108 adopted Guidelines on Children’s Data Protection in an Education Setting. These Guidelines set out the fundamental principles of children’s rights in an education setting and help legislators and policy makers, data controllers as well as the industry to uphold these rights.

The Guidelines follow and build on a report on “Children’s Data Protection in Education Systems: Challenges and Possible Remedies” by Jen Persson, director of defenddigitalme.
